Adult ADHD assessment and care, by telehealth
If you have spent years wondering whether ADHD explains how your mind works, you can have a proper assessment with an Australian team of psychologists, psychiatrists and GPs — online, from home, anywhere in Australia. Honest answers, and a clear plan for what comes next.
You have probably been managing for a long time
Most adults reach us after years of quietly working harder than everyone around them just to keep up. The signs were always there, but life kept moving and there was never a clear moment to stop and ask the question properly.
This is not about putting a label on a hard week. It is about understanding patterns that have followed you for most of your life — and getting that understanding from a real Australian team of psychologists, psychiatrists and GPs, by video, without taking a day off to sit in a waiting room.
- Adults who have wondered for years whether ADHD might explain things
- People who struggle with focus, organisation, time, or finishing what they start
- People who experience impulsivity or restlessness that affects work or relationships
- People who find emotions hard to regulate and are not sure why
- People whose GP has suggested an ADHD assessment as a sensible next step
- People who want proper, team-based care by telehealth without travelling to a clinic
A structured assessment, led by a psychologist
Your in-depth assessment is led by a registered Australian psychologist and follows recognised clinical guidelines. Where ADHD is identified, a psychiatrist — a medical doctor — confirms the diagnosis and looks after treatment. It all happens by secure video. The aim is to build an accurate picture of how you think, work and feel, not to reach a conclusion that was decided in advance.
It is honest, calm and thorough. Not everyone who is assessed will meet the criteria for ADHD, and that is a valid and useful outcome in itself. Either way, you leave with a clearer understanding of what is going on.
A detailed telehealth interview
An unhurried video conversation with your psychologist about your history, your day-to-day experience, and the patterns you have noticed across school, work and home.
Validated questionnaires
Standardised tools, completed before and around your appointment, that help measure your experience against recognised criteria.
Background and collateral information
Where helpful, we may look at school reports or ask, with your consent, for input from someone who knows you well. This adds context, not pressure.
Diagnosis and treatment with a psychiatrist
Where ADHD is identified, a psychiatrist reviews your assessment, confirms the diagnosis and leads your treatment plan — considering overlapping factors like anxiety, sleep and mood so the picture is accurate.
What to expect, from first contact to your plan
Book online
You start by sharing some details and what prompted you to look into an assessment. It all happens online — there is no commitment to a diagnosis at any point.
Pre-assessment questionnaires
We send through validated questionnaires to complete in your own time, so your appointment can focus on the conversation that matters.
Your telehealth assessment
You meet your psychologist over secure video for a structured, unhurried clinical interview — from home, anywhere in Australia. No waiting rooms, no travel.
Your diagnosis, plan and ongoing care
You receive a clear, plain-English explanation of the findings and your recommended next steps. If ADHD is diagnosed, a psychiatrist confirms it and works with you — and your GP, in shared care — on a treatment plan and ongoing telehealth reviews.
Assessment, treatment and ongoing care
This is not a one-off appointment and then you are on your own. Your psychologist leads the assessment, and where ADHD is diagnosed a psychiatrist stays involved — leading your treatment and reviews by telehealth, in shared care with your GP.
- A structured, psychologist-led assessment against recognised ADHD criteria
- A clear explanation of the findings you can keep, share with your GP, or use to support a request for adjustments
- If ADHD is diagnosed, a psychiatrist confirms it and leads a treatment plan tailored to you
- Ongoing telehealth reviews, with your GP involved in shared care
- Treatment, which your psychiatrist may discuss with you where clinically appropriate
- Support to understand all your options, including non-medication strategies
What this service can and cannot do
We would rather be clear with you upfront than make promises we cannot keep. This is healthcare, not a transaction.
- We cannot guarantee a diagnosis. Not everyone who is assessed will meet ADHD criteria, and an honest “no” is a valid outcome.
- We are not a fast-medication service. Any treatment decision is clinical, made by your psychiatrist after a proper assessment — and ADHD prescribing in Australia is regulated and usually managed in shared care with your GP.
- This works alongside your GP, not instead of them. Shared care means your psychologist, psychiatrist and GP work together on your assessment and ongoing treatment.
- It is not a crisis or emergency service. If you need urgent help, call 000 in an emergency, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, or contact your GP.
- Your written summary can support conversations with your university, employer or doctor — but on its own it cannot secure any particular outcome, which always rests with them.
Online, from home, anywhere in Australia
Your whole journey — assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care — happens by secure telehealth, wherever you are in Australia. That means no travel, no waiting rooms, and a far easier time finding an appointment that fits around work and life.
A GP referral is usually needed to see a psychiatrist with a Medicare rebate — we will guide you through that, and your GP can advise on what applies to you. Telehealth suitability is confirmed as part of getting started. [Practice telehealth details to be confirmed by a qualified clinician before publishing.]
